Oaklands Haven Stallions
Welcome to our stallions page. At Oaklands Haven both of our stallions are registered Studbook Australian Stock Horse with the Stock Horse Society. Prince is also registered Palomino (APHA). Both boys have exceptional temperament and ability. You will find links to their Stock Horse Breeding listed below.
Chebel Bud

Born: 23rd September 1983
Dam: Solo
Sire: Scrumlo Victory
Australian Stock Horse (ASHS) Registration Details: Chebel Bud
Bud came to us in 2006 when we were looking to introduce a different line. Through a series of strange events he has ended up staying. At 26yrs he is still going strong and will most likely live his days out here. This is a horse with exceptional temperament and ability. Being the grandson of a successful Warwick Cup competitor and the son of the well known Scrumlo Victory this boy was bred to draft. He competed for many years across the country carrying both adults and children. Today (even though retired) he is still happy to cart any of the kids around the paddock. We are very pleased with the type of foals we are getting from this cross.
Sovereign Prince

Born: 8th October 1986
Dam: O’Briens Marionette
Sire: Lord Fury
Australian Stock Horse (ASHS) Registration Details: Sovereign Prince
This horse is a one of a kind. He was bred and campaigned in his early days by Marj Graham of Tomago. After having a stroke, yet still determined to ride, Marj taught Prince to lay down so she could get on him to work the cattle. He never put a foot wrong in her hands and always made sure he got her back to the yards safely. I was fortunate enough to be offered the opportunity to take him on after Marj passed away in 1994.
He is the best representation for the Palomino colour and type whilst also being a registered ASH studbook stallion. Like Bud, our black stallion, Prince is also a gentleman to handle and ride. He has piles of Champion ribbons for both Stock Horse and Palomino classes obtained throughout his career. Prince can be ridden by adults or children and is very responsive to his aids.
He has been retired for several years now as we are using some of his kids under saddle. However, if we needed a good steady mount I would not hesitate to pull the old boy out of the paddock and would guarantee he would be no different to the last time he was ridden. Prince is also registered Palomino (APHA) and has competed very successfully in Palomino classes across the state. He never came home without a ribbon or ten.
This man is the reason I breed. He fuelled my passion for horses and love for all things equine. Without him I would never have experienced some of my greatest moments. He is my love ......my life......
