Oaklands Haven

Foundation - Stallion Lord Fury

Oaklands Haven bloodlines stem from the original foundation Stallion "Lord Fury".

Bred by Marj and Stan Graham of Tomago Fury was shown successfully in hand and under saddle throughout the 70´s and 80´s. In Palomino terms Fury is a classic example of the perfect coat colour of the Palomino. Testament to this is the many ribbons he won in those classes.

Fury sired over 250 foals. For whatever reason, only some of these were actually ASH registered. Fury put a stamp on these foals that made them clearly stand out as his kids. One of these – "Sovereign Prince" is the stallion we stand at Oaklands Haven today.

Fury foals were highly sought after as good even tempered work horses with exceptional ability on the cattle. At 14 hands he was an ideal size for the petite Marj who was often seen down the paddock on Fury mustering cattle in her "house dress" and sandals. What a character she was.

Sadly Fury was put to rest on the 8th of August 1990 at 22 yrs with colic complications. Almost as if he knew his time had come, this was the same year Prince´s first foals hit the ground. An era had passed.
